UAE- EPG opens augmented reality st exhibition

Dubai 28th November 2015 (WAM): UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs Obaid Humaid Al Tayer toured the various segments of Emirates Post Group's Innovation Week activities accompanied by Acting CEO of EPG Fahad Al Hosani; noted writer and former Speaker of the Federal National Council Mohammed Al Murr; and members of the EPG Board and head of Emirates Philatelic Association.

Al Tayer visited the Stamp Innovation section and viewed three types of stamps being issued by Emirates Post Group: Stamps that use 'Augmented Reality' technology which plays a video of the particular stamp when a smartphone is placed over it; Personalised Stamps that print a photo of an individual and Online Stamps.

The Minister also visited the VIP Lounge which hosted a number of corporate speakers addressing the employees on innovation in business; an Innovation Caf? designed to help employees offer ideas and suggestion on innovation and a cinema corner in which a trainer conducted brainstorming sessions on innovation.

The industry speaker series featured Rami Suleiman UPS ISMEA district Vice President Finance Risk & Compliance (Indian Subcontinent Middle East and Africa) who explained 'how UPS a 108 year old company innovated in order to position itself as a global worldwide leader in Logistics.' "UPS is a proud supporter of the National Innovation Strategy 2015 led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This vision encourages government entities public and private sectors to push boundaries build capacities and harness creativity" said Rami Suleiman. "Innovation is the core driver of our services at UPS and has helped position us as a global logistics leader for over a century. Innovation will ultimately enhance the way we work in the region and it will continue to play an instrumental role in creating a sustainable economy".
