Qatar- Tributes paid to Bangabandhu

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Bangladesh Awami League-Qatar marked National Mourning Day and 40th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at the ballroom of Ramna restaurant in Najma, attended by a large number of community members.

The programme started with one-minute silence and recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by the screening of a documentary film on Bangabandhu. Speakers also highlighted his contribution to Bangladesh's independence and condemned the barbaric act of assassination of Bangabandhu and his family members on August 15, 1975.
