One killed, 22 Injured in NATO Convoy Attack in Kabul


(MENAFN- QNA) A heavy explosion rocked the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Tuesday afternoon after a suicide bomber targeted the vehicles convoy of the coalition forces, killing one and injured 22.

The incident took place in the vicinity of the 9th police district of the city, the security officials said.

Kabul police chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi said the incident took place after a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle packed with explosives near the convoy of the NATO forces, (Khaama Press) reported.

Rahimi further added that one person was killed and 22 others were injured in the attack. He confirmed that the victims are all civilians.

No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

The Taliban-led insurgency have been rampant since the group launched its summer offensive earlier this year.

The incident is followed nine days after a group of suicide bombers and militants launched coordinated attack on the Lower House of the Parliament – Wolesi Jirga.

At least five people were killed and several others were injured in the attack on the parliament house.
