Saudi- OIC ministers hold talks on Yemen today

(MENAFN- Arab News) JEDDAH: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is all set to convene an emergency meeting of foreign ministers to discuss the situation in Yemen at the organization's headquarters in Jeddah on Tuesday.
The meeting which is being held pursuant to a request from the government of Yemen coupled with the approval of a majority of the OIC member states will consider the situation in Yemen and ways to ensure the return of security and stability there. It is expected that the meeting will be attended by a large number of OIC member states.
Sources confirmed the attendance of 14 foreign ministers at the meeting stressing the OIC's interest to create a significant stability in Yemen. They also confirmed that the Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi will attend the meeting.
Meanwhile Iyad Madani secretary-general of the OIC emphasized the need to advance cooperation between the Islamic world and the Russian Federation while speaking at a meeting of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group in Moscow on June 11. In the opening ceremony of the meeting attended by religious scholars and politicians from Russia and Muslim countries Madani reviewed the historic relations between Russia and the Muslim world and highlighted major areas of cooperation between the two sides.
