Kuwaiti Singer Al-Rowaished Honored


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah honored Sunday singer Abdullah Al- Rowaished for acquiring an honorary doctorate from the Academy of Arts in Egypt. Al-Rowaished was granted the honorary doctorate last April during a concert at the Academy of Arts titled "Egypt is Proud of its Pan-Arabism" in appreciation for his valuable and distinctive works throughout his music career.

In his beginnings, the Kuwaiti singer was a member in the "Kuwait Quartet" band in the early 1980s. The band released its first album in 1980 under the title "Ana Sahran". Al-Rowaished has released a total of 36 albums throughout his singing career, varying between romantic and patriotic songs that were written and composed by some of the top names in the music business in Kuwait and the Gulf
