India MSME Ministry for promoting clean tech innovations in SMEs
(MENAFN- KNN India) Ministry of MSME, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Global Environment Facility(GEF) have deliberated to collaborate for promoting clean technology innovations in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and handholding them in commercializing their innovations.
The Cleantech Open Programme launched by the Ministry of MSME in partnership with UNIDO and GEF for promoting Innovations in the Indian SMEs which aims at promoting innovations and entrepreneurship in clean technologies.
"The program is designed to identify innovations in the area of Energy Efficiency in the SMEs and provide mentorship to the innovators so that they can showcase their innovation on global platform in a competition in November in California, USA," according to a notification.
SMEs, emerging startups and entrepreneurs with an innovative technology or process can submit an online application by June end. After submitting the applications, 20 semi-finalists will be shortlisted for their innovations by an expert panel. The selected semi-finalists will undergo mentoring programme in which industry experts, technical experts, business development experts and sectoral experts will assist the SMEs by providing their expertise to maximize the chances of these innovations achieving sustainable commercial success in India and abroad.
The Semi Finalists will gain access to our Mentors, Investors and Sustainability Programs. They will be connected to the global value chain; and business models will be developed for attracting financing by banks, venture capitalists and institutions.
After the mentoring programme a second round of selection will take place in which 2 finalists will be shortlisted, who will be competing at Global Cleantech competition, "Cleantech Open Global Forum 2015", to be held in November in California, USA. (KNN Bureau)
