Qatari bourse index drops 71.82 points, or 0.59pc


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Stock Exchange index dropped 71.82 points (0.59 percent) when the bourse closed trading at 12,123.22 points Monday.

The market capitalisation decreased to QR653.05bn from QR655.99bn registered Sunday.

The traded value increased to QR371.91m with a volume of 8,285,242 shares from 4,886 transactions compared to QR256.32m with a volume of 7,064,080 shares from 4,318 transactions on Sunday.

Indices of five sectors dropped and two gained today.

Insurance index gained 0.37 percent to 4,192.58 points and consumer goods and services gained 0.32 percent to 7,469.77 points.

Telecoms index dropped the most, down 1.66 percent to 1,281.79 points.

QSE Total Return Index dropped 0.59 percent (18,840.12 points). QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index dropped 0.70 percent (4,635.35 points). QSE All Share Index dropped 0.48 percent (3,246.04 points).

From the 43 listed companies, shares of 41 saw trading today. From these, 12 advanced, 28 declined and one remained unchanged.
