Kuwait to invest USD2b in culture, tourism sectors


(MENAFN) The Kuwaiti government plans to invest USD2 billion in cultural and tourism sectors in hopes of attracting one million tourists in 2015, according to government's statements, Saudi Gazette reported.

Kuwait's current agenda involves a five-year plan for expanding businesses in the travel and tourism sector. This includes other projects like the new passenger terminal at Kuwait International Airport.

"World Travel and Tourism Council predictions put tourist arrivals at 440,000 by 2024 - up from 270,000 in 2014 - and the government has ploughed USD13 billion into infrastructure development," the Exhibition Manager for ATM said.
