China's forestry trade value hits USD138b in 2014


(MENAFN) The state forestry administration (SFA) said the combined export and import value of Chinese forest products, including wood and bamboo, jumped to USD138 billion in 2014, Xinhua reported.

The figure represented a growth of 9.5 percent over 2013, as total output of the forestry industry reached USD858 billion in the full year of 2014, showing an increase of 11.1 percent.

Of the total, wood and bamboo products along with commercial forest planting each contributed more than USD162.34 billion, the state forestry administration said in a statement.

China supports development of forestry tourism and recreational industries, biopharmaceuticals, flower and seeding trees planting, deputy head of the administration said.
