Kuwait Owns Most Cars In Arab World


(MENAFN- Arab Times) People in Kuwait own the most number of vehicles compared to those in other Arab countries as per a report issued by AUTOSTAT which is a Russian agency that analyzes the automobile market, reports Al-Watan daily.

The report revealed that there are 723 vehicles for every 100,000 people in Kuwait, which puts the country in first place among the Arab countries and the sixth worldwide.

Internationally, Brunei is in first place with 873 vehicles for every 100,000 people, Brocrekonne second with 819 vehicles, USA third with 801 vehicles, Iceland fourth place with 758 vehicles, and Luxembourg fifth with 733 vehicles. Ethiopia was placed last with two vehicles for every 100,000 while the average statistics is 162 vehicles for every 100,000 people.

In an unrelated development, two weeks after the Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Al- Humoud Al-Sabah revoked the supervising power that his Undersecretary Salah Al-Mubaraki had on the Office of Inspection and Audit, the minister issued a decision on Nov 23 to revoke Decision 86/2012 which allocates some tasks to the undersecretary.

He assigned more than 15 tasks to three of his assistant undersecretaries, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting informed sources. They explained that the Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs was assigned with the task of referring to retirement those employees who reached the legal age for retirement, along with other tasks.

The sources added that the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs was assigned the task of issuing decisions to refer for investigations any violations and decisions regarding suspension from work while the Assistant Undersecretary for Media and Publications was assigned the task of referring any violations related to publications and audio-visual media to the Public Prosecution.
