Qatar, Azerbaijan sign two security cooperation deals


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Qatar and Azerbaijan signed two security cooperation agreements on the sidelines of the Milipol Qatar 2014, which opened on Monday at the Doha Exhibition Centre.

Qatar news agency (QNA) said that the first agreement was signed by Director General of Public Security (DGPS) Staff Major General Saad bin Jassem Al Khulaifi, and Azerbaijan's Interior Minister General Ramil Usubov.

Brigadier Hadi Al-Shahwani, of Qatar's interoir ministry, said the agreement will focus on cooperation in combating illegal drugs, training police, and exchange of information.

The second agreement was signed by Qatari Director of the Office of the Internal Security Forces (Lekhwiya) Brigadier Fahad Rashed Al-Ali and Azeri Minister for Emergency Situations Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov.

Al-Ali said the agreement will be boosting security training and exchange of information, including high level training to internal security force (Lekhwiya).

Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Thani opened the 10th edition of the three-day Milipol Qatar Exhibition 2014.
