Tunisia's Interim PM Meets US Commander of AFRICOM


Tunisia's Interim Prime Minister Mehdi Juma met here today with the Gen. David M. Rodriguez, the commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) , who is currently visiting Tunisia as part of a tour of a North African tour.

Talks during the meeting dealt with military and security cooperation between the two countries as well as fight against terrorism.

In a statement after the meeting, Rodriguez said that the United States had provided assistance to the Tunisian army since 2011 estimated at $100 million, adding that his country has proposed additional aid to Tunisia worth about $ 60 million for the next year.
