Lebanon's FDI falls 23 percent in 2013

(MENAFN) Lebanon's foreign direct investment fell by 23 percent in 2013, while FDI to the West Asian region also dropped by 9 percent during the same year compared to 2012, according to the Daily Star. Experts say that the drop in FDI resulted from the less channeled from Gulf countries into the Lebanese real estate sector. Only USD104 million of the USD2.833 billion FDI inflows to Lebanon in 2013 were categorized as Greenfield investments, ranking Lebanon as the fourth-smallest recipient in the region.
