Eurozone trade surplus down to USD23.4b in March


(MENAFN) According to the European Union (EU) statistics office, the eurozone was projected to post a trade surplus of USD23.4 billion in March, compared to a surplus of USD30 billion year-on-year, Xinhua reported. The eurozone's exports declined by 0.5 percent in March compared to the previous month, while imports dipped 0.6 percent. As for the 28-mumber EU, first forecasts of trade balance surplus pointed to USD5.34 billion in March, compared with a surplus of USD20.2 billion in the same month last year and a surplus of USD6.44 billion in February of 2014. The highest increase of EU exports was to China, with 13 percent, while the highest increase of imports was recorded from South Korea at 11 percent.
