(MENAFN - Arab News) Cobs engineering group inc.announced it was awarded a contract by nesma & partners for program management services for the saudi arabian national guard hospital program.officials did not disclose the contract value but said the contract duration is up to three years including option periods.under the terms of the contract jacobs is supporting nesma & partners in managing a program that involves building five hospitals on four sites in saudi arabia: a 300-bed maternity hospital in riyadh two 300-bed national guard hospitals in qassim and taif and a 346-bed children's hospital and 176-bed neurological hospital on an existing hospital site in jeddah.nesma & partners the general contractor brought jacobs on to the project to leverage its extensive global experience managing the design and construction of health care facilities; particularly noting the state-of-the-art cleveland clinic abu dhabi project it recently managed. jacobs is mobilizing a number of its health care professionals from that project plus local hires to work on the saudi arabian national guard hospital program according to a press release.in making the announcement jacobs group vice president bassim shebaro stated: 'we are delighted to be working with nesma & partners to deliver this important program to the saudi arabian national guard. with these projects underway we are committed to continuing to make significant contributions toward increasing and improving health care services throughout the region."nesma ceo imad gholmieh stated: 'we are pleased to work alongside jacobs on this major health care project in saudi arabia. we see tremendous opportunities to leverage our construction experience in buildings and infrastructure projects with jacobs' pmc capabilities in the region and are pleased to support this new partnership."jacobs is one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical professional and construction services.
