Kuwait- KPC signs LNG importing contract with Qatargas


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has signed a contract with Qatargas to provide Kuwait with part of its needs of liquefied natural gas (LNG) till the end of 2014. In a press statement, KPC Managing Director for International Marketing Nasser Al-Mudhaf said that the contract was signed in Doha on Sunday to crown two years of negotiations with Qatari energy giant. Al-Mudhaf applauded Oil Minister and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Ali Al-Omair and KPC Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer's unlimited support which resulted in the signing of the contract. He pointed out that the deal paves the way for bigger cooperation with Qatargas on the long-term. Meanwhile, Head of KPC's naphtha, gas and diesel sales department Sheikh khaled Al-Sabah said that Qatargas will start LNG shipment to Kuwait as of Monday.
