(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Arab League's Ministerial Council has welcomed the Qatari mediation aimed at ending the dispute between Djibouti and Eretria through peaceful means and restoring the situation in the Ras Doumeira area and the Doumeira island to what it was in before 4 February 2008. In a decision released at the end of its 141st session, the Ministerial Council welcomed the agreement signed between Djibouti and Eritrea on 6 June 2010 under the auspices of the State of Qatar. The Council also backed the implementation of this agreement to address the all issues and normalize between the two countries, hoping to see positive impact on the situation in Horn African region in general. The Council urged the two sides to implement the agreement's provisions which mandate Qatar to put an end to the crisis that erupted in February 2008 in Ras Doumeira area, and to free captives. The Ministerial Council welcomed, as well, the joint communique issued by the Arab League and African Union peace and security council on 19 December 2010 on the dispute between Djibouti and Eretria, and asked the Arab League Secretary General to follow up the developments in line with Qatari mediation to submit a report to the upcoming Ministerial Council's meetin
