Senior ACCA Members In Kuwait Form 1st MAC


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Senior finance professionals form the first Members Advisory Committee for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in Kuwait. Leading finance professionals in Kuwait have been chosen to form the first Members Advisory Committee (MAC) to be established in the country by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), the global body for professional accountants. Seven senior ACCA members - all Fellows of the association, who hold leading positions in all sectors and industries agreed to serve on the MAC which will advise ACCA's global Council, the Chief Executive, the Regional Director and the Head of Kuwait on strategic development of ACCA, providing technical support to its' members, affiliates & students and overall raising accounting and finance awareness in the country



The new MAC members include: Hikmat Mukhaimer, FCCA - Regional Managing Partner, RODL Middle East; Mishaal Al-Matrook, FCCA - Project Finance Co-ordinator, Kuwait Petroleum International; Hassan Choudhry, FCCA - Sr Manager, Assurance at EY; Naveed Ashraf, FCCA - Group Finance Manager - Mezzan Holding Company; Sibte Hasan Sheikh, FCCA - Sr Manager Assurance, Grant Thornton; Samir Shafique, FCCA - Finance Manager, Al Ghanim Automotive and Haroun Yusuf Amir, FCCA - Internal Audit Manager, Al-Ashrafiya Int'l for Food Stuff. Hassan Choudhry was appointed as the Chairman of the Committee and Sibte Sheikh was appointed as Vice-Chair of the MAC which will provide a formal network for members in the country



Hassan Choudhry said: " ACCA, the global body for professional accountants, has a significant presence in Kuwait with growing numbers of students and ACCA qualified professionals. The creation of the members advisory committee will enhancing ACCA's profile within both practice and industry and provide support to those aspiring to become part of the ACCA family. I would like to take this opportunity to thank ACCA for establishing the Members Advisory Committee of Kuwait, which will enable us to promote, assist and contribute to the development of both the ACCA and accountancy profession in the State of Kuwait
