Rose allegations: universities rescind awards to send a message

( MENAFN ) Former co-host Charlie Rose has been cast off from CBS as well as PBS. Few days after his dismissal from his occupation, a couple of universities have withdrawn his awards due to misconduct allegations.

Arizona State University and the University of Kansas have each presented Rose with an award but their panels settled on rescinding them, as reported by The Associated Press.

In 2015, Rose was offered with an award for excellence in Journalism by Arizona's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. However, Christopher Callahan the dean of the school decided to rescind the award to stress the gravity of the situation of sexual harassment.

The Associated Press received a statement from the dean saying "the actions victimized young women much like those who make up the overwhelming majority of Cronkite students - young women who deserve to enter workplaces that reward them for their hard work, intelligence and creativity and where they do not have to fear for their safety or dignity."
