(MENAFN - Morocco World News) Rabat – For the National Day against Cancer (November 22), the Ministry of Health has revealed shocking data about the reality of among .

Nearly 40,000 Moroccans are diagnosed with cancer each year, reported the ministry in a press release on Tuesday. accounts for 36 percent of all cancer cases among female patients, making it the most common form of cancer among women.

The report also discusses plans to address , such as creating nine regional centers for in Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir, Jeddah, Al Hoceima, Tangier, Marrakech, Fes, and Meknes. As well, it has planned two "centers of excellence" for women specialized in and two tumor treatment centers for children in Rabat and Casablanca.

The number of medication for cancer patients has also increased in Morocco from 11 million medicine in 2009 to 300 million, while more than 200,000 cancer patients get their treatment.

The Ministry of Health also highlighted the importance of the early detection of , which makes it easier for patients to heal, reduces suffering, and increases the possibility of recovery.
