(MENAFN) According to police, an armed man who murdered four people in rural California on Tuesday attempted to raise havoc at an elementary school before teachers refused to let him go through the premises.
After noticing the sound of gunshots, Rancho Tehama Reserve School was spared a crisis when teachers locked down the school. Authorities describes their reaction as "monumental" in saving "countless" lives.
During the incident, one child suffered from a bullet wound while few others were caught by broken glass and harmed. The gunman was later identified as Kevin Neal aged 43 after police shot and killed him when spotted in a stolen vehicle.
