Uzbekistan, Spain agree to cooperate in industry

A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov in Madrid met with the Secretary of State for Trade of the Kingdom of Spain, Maria Luisa Poncela, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

The parties discussed the priority areas for further development of cooperation, primarily in the trade, economic and investment spheres.

They noted that Uzbekistan and Spain have sufficient opportunities to expand investment ties, increase volumes and the range of mutual trade, which in January-July 2017 amounted to $71.5 million.

During the business forum with the participation of representatives of business circles of Uzbekistan and Spain, the prospects of implementing new joint and mutually beneficial projects in various fields of the economy were examined in detail.

Following the talks, a Memorandum was signed between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Spain on cooperation in the field of economy and industry, as well as the Agreement on Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain.
