(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The US embassy has partnered with the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) to celebrate the Discover America Festival and Doha Learning Week.
A series of activities in support of these initiatives are taking place in Doha until November 16. The embassy's Open Mic Night event held last week gave young poets, musicians and spoken word performers of all levels and ages a chance to share their voices and their work with the community.
William Grant, chargé d'affaires ad. interim at the US embassy, said, 'Events such as these help build critical thinking skills in young people, which in turn enhances their ability to solve problems. Young people with these skills grow up to become
leaders.
The objective of the Discover America Festival is to encourage locals and residents in Qatar to experience American culture, art, and education, and discover new opportunities to partner with American businesses in Qatar and abroad.
