Jordan calls for objective assessment of terrorism causes


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Nov 4 (KUNA) -- Jordanian State Minister for Information Mohammad Momani Saturday called for an international objective assessment of factors that contributed to rise of terrorist groups.

Momani, also government spokesman, said Jordan has been largely affected by lack of regional stability and security.

Momani was addressing a conference about how Jordan was living in an evolving regional environment. The conference was co-organized by Al-Quds Center for Political Studies and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

Jordan, he added, was active in the war against terrorism and extremism.

Dr. Annette Ranko, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung residing representative, said Europe's interest in the Arab regionl increased following the so-called Arab Spring, as well as influx of refugees to Europe.

The three-day conference discusses terrorism, and Jordan's relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. (end) ab.bs
