New radio stations launched


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Four new radio channels - 98.6 FM, 91.7 FM, 106.3 FM and 89.6 FM - were launched in Qatar yesterday under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and in the presence of HE Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports. Several ambassadors, dignitaries and officials were also present on the occasion. While two of the four channels will air programmes in Malayalam, the other two will features shows in Hindi. The minister stressed that the launch of the new radio channels would contribute to the promotion of cultural diversity in Qatar and also comes within the framework of the state's commitment to support and stimulate private investment. The minister also said it was looking forward to launching radio channels in more languages, such as English, French, Spanish and Filipino.
