Israeli settlers open fire against Palestinian farmers

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Oct. 30 (Petra) -- Israeli ultra-orthodox settlers Monday opened fire against Palestinian farmers in a Hebron village, intimidating and injuring them while harvesting olives, according to a local source.

Rateb Jabour, a Palestinian official who monitors settlement activities in the area, said the settlers from the Maon settlement sprayed gunfire bullets at the farmers who were picking olives from their land in Masafer Yatta area near the settlement, wounding dozens of them.

He said the settlers regularly attack Palestinian farmers and cattle herders of Masafer Yatta to drive them out of their lands.
