Morocco's king suspends ministers in restive tribal area

(MENAFN)Morocco's king stopped the working of several ministers and top officials on Tuesday for after they failed to improve the economic shaky situation in a region full of protests, a statement said.

Protests broke out in the Rif region around the northern city of Al Hoceima last October, after the death of a fishmonger whom the police seized his products.

The man was crushed to death in a garbage truck during a confrontation with police. It wrathfully became a symbol of corruption and official abuse.

Protests also continued there this year because of economic underdevelopment.
