Jeddah, Safar 5, 1439, Oct 25, 2017, SPA -- Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), stressed the importance of environment protection in order to achieve sustainable development in the OIC countries, confirming the need to strengthen a cooperation among the national institutions, the private sector and society in general to implement environmental projects and programs in the OIC member countries.
During inauguration of the 7th Islamic Conference of Environment Ministers being held in Rabat, Al-Othaimeen highlighted OIC's efforts, including the OIC Program of Technology and Science 2026 and the OIC Water Vision 2025 to assist the OIC member countries in the fields of environment and climate change.
