Bodies-In-The-Box Murders: a confession off the record

(MENAFN) In Brisbane court, a police officer claimed that one of the suspects charged with the Logan bodies-in-the-box murders had confessed to the crime the moment his interview ended and the recorder was switched off. Detective Senior Constable Nicole Tunks informed the court on Tuesday that the suspect, Tuhirangi-Thomas Tahiata, confessed, "I did it, I killed them, I murdered them both."

Tunks confirmed, before his confession the suspect began wiping his eyes and his face turned blue in distress. The detective stood there in silence then took off to get more interview tapes before recommencing the interview.

In attempt of locating the bodies of the victims (Cory Breton, 28 and Iuliana Triscaru, 31), Tahiata was transferred later that night to another location. Eighteen days after the victims were last seen, February 2016, their bodies were discovered in Kingston dam in a locked metal box.
