The Fifth meeting of the Follow-up Committee on the execution of the Agreement concerning the implementation of the Doha Declaration was held yesterday at the Ministry of Interior headquarters in the presence of representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and Qatari representatives in the committee for the implementation of Doha Declaration.
The Qatari side was chaired by Major General H E Dr Abdullah Yousuf Al Mal, Advisor to the Minister of Interior.
The delegation of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime was led by John Brandolino, Director, Division for Treaty Affairs, UN Office.
The meeting reviewed the three pillars of the Doha Declaration 2015 including (1- Judicial Integrity 2- Rehabilitation for Prisoners & Youth Crime Prevention through Sports-based programmes 3- Education for Justice) in addition to the progress made in it, as well as options to combat terrorism and efforts done to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The meeting also conferred to encourage member States to implement and make more effective use of the relevant international conventions and protocols against terrorism, and reviewed the stages of implementation of the World Program for the Doha Declaration.
