Jordan- King receives Utah Governor

Amman, Oct.22 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday, received Governor of the Utah State, Gary Herbert, his wife and an accompanied delegation, which included a number of political and economic figures in the state.

The meeting, attended by HRH Prince Faisal bin Al-Hussein, dealt with strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States and ways to promote cooperation between the Kingdom and the state of Utah in the fields of energy, water, investment, higher education and information security. The meeting tackled a number of ideas to expand trade and investment cooperation between Jordan and the state.

The talks touched on regional developments, especially efforts aimed at moving forward the peace process and finding political solutions to regional crises.

The meeting also dealt with the repercussions of the Syrian refugees crisis on Jordan's national economy, as well as regional and international efforts in the war on terrorism.

Utah Governor is heading an economic delegation that comprises senior business leaders in the state. The delegation will hold a series of meetings with a number of senior Jordanian officials and businessmen to explore opportunities for joint cooperation between Jordan and Utah and to explore investment opportunities offered by the Jordanian economy.
