UN strongly condemns terrorist attack in Western Desert, Egypt


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) members have strongly condemned the heinous and coward terrorist attack that took place in the Western Desert in Egypt recently, killing a large number of police officers.

They added in a statement on Saturday night that they reject all forms of terrorism as it represents one of the most dangerous threats to the international security and peace.

They stressed the importance of handing the perpetrators of such terrorist attacks to justice.

They called on the member countries to cooperate with the Egyptian government and all the authorities in charge in accordance to the states' commitments coping with the international law and UNSC resolutions.

They added that any terrorist acts are considered unjustified crimes, regardless of the motivations, location, timing or identity of those behind it.

They emphasized the need that all countries must fight with all means in accordance with the UN charter all threats against the International security and stability.(end) asf.lb
