New oil pipeline between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are set to initiate a new 350,000-barrels-per-day oil pipeline to serve the planned growth of Bahrain's plant capacity.

Considering a gas pipeline as well, the project will be completed next month according to Bahrain's oil minister.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa said in an interview, "Bahrain is in final negotiations with a preferred bidder to expand its only oil refinery and a contract is expected to be awarded before the year-end".

He did not identify the bidder; however, sources said that associations including TechnipFMC, Samsung Engineering and Spain's Tecnicas Reunidas had submitted the lowest bid.
