(MENAFN) Despite of Israeli resistance, Interpol approved the Palestinian membership offer, which is a victory for its global. The Palestine Liberation Organization's negotiations relationships division said on Twitter they had received more than 75 percent of the vote.
As Palestine got witness status at the UN in 2012 and after that it has joined more than 50 international organizations and agreements including the international criminal court and the UN heritage body Unesco. As Interpol eases the exchange of information between police forces and the notifications of arrest warrants.
Palestinian official had told AFP that "we're looking to be in all of the international institutions, including Interpol, as an organized state." And a former senior Israeli diplomat and legal expert, said the membership application was "just a political PR move" on the part of the Palestinians.
