Bangladeshi government launched its countrywide open market sales of rice


(MENAFN) In a step to stabilize market, Bangladeshi government launched its countrywide open market sales (OMS) of rice.

The rice price has been fixed at 30 taka (USD0.37) per kg, much lower than that in outside markets, a salesman of a fair price outlet in Dhaka, told Xinhua.

After floods wiped out crops in recent months, Bangladeshi government decided to start OMS of rice to support the poorer people as rice prices are raising.
