Qatar condemns Iraq suicide attacks


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar yesterday strongly condemned suicide attacks on a restaurant and a police station in southern Iraq that killed at least 52 people. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm position rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of their motives and reasons. The statement expressed Qatar's condolences to the families of the victims, the government and the people of Iraq, and its wishes for speedy recovery to the injured.
Qatar also yesterday strongly condemned the bombing of a mosque in northern Cameroon, which caused the death of a number of people. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a separate statement reiterated Qatar's firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism and stressed Qatar's complete rejection of targeting places of worship and intimidating innocent people. The statement also expressed condolences to the victims' families and to the government and people of Cameroon.
