ProfitOpt OD primarily ensures that Origin Destination demand and fares are considered while determining optimal allocation for inventory. The solution minimizes disruption to already established practices at airlines while according the benefits of an OD system by considering the network effects of Itinerary level demand and fares at the flight segment level. · Consumes PNR level data and determines valid itineraries using connection building logic
· Generates Demand Forecasts at the Itinerary/class level
· Performs network level optimization to determine demand and revenue contribution of itineraries to the leg/class level
· Utilizes Origin Destination contributions to determine leg/class inventory levels using existing controls and nesting structure familiar to analysts
· Includes reports at the Origin Destination Level
Development of this solution was completed in early 2017. The benefits of an OD RM solution are multifold: airlines can get a realistic idea of the actual demand and value of customers on each leg based on all the itineraries that traverse each leg; use these figures to optimally allocate inventory to leg classes using already existing controls supported by the Reservation System; get insight into traffic patterns by itinerary and by leg using extensive reporting capability.
