Azerbaijani wrestlers win three medals in Greece

The Cadet Wrestling World Championship has wrapped up in Athens, Greece.

The championship is a yearly event where the best Greco-Roman, Freestyle and Women wrestlers in the world aged 16 -7 old compete.

This year the tournament brought together more than 100 athletes from Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, Georgia and other countries.

Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers have grabbed three medals, including a gold at the Cadet World Championship, Azertac reported.

The gold medal came from Gurban Gurbanov in the 42kg weight category, while Nihad Mammadli and Zaur Aliyev took silvers in the 46kg and 50kg divisions respectively.

The Ukrainian team won the medal standings with 3 gold, while Iranian team claimed two gold and placed second. Azerbaijan took the third place at the podium with one gold and two silver medals.
