Qatar- Katara Hospitality partners with QTA for WTD celebrations

The official World Tourism Day (WTD) celebrations will be held in Doha next month with the support of Katara Hospitality as Hospitality Partner, organisers Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) announced yesterday.
Held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the event is expected to gather several hundred tourism industry stakeholders from around the world at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel to explore tourism's role in sustainable development.
Katara Hospitality is a global hotel owner, developer and operator, based in Qatar. With a portfolio of 42 hotels spread across three continents in Qatar, Egypt, Morocco, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Singapore and Thailand. Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel known as the ‘Pyramid of the Gulf' will be the host hotel for WTD.

WTD is the official day set aside in the United Nations' calendar to highlight tourism's contribution to some of the most pressing challenges society is faced with today.
This year, the celebrations will be held under the theme ‘Sustainable Tourism A Tool for Development'. This year's celebrations will be the platform for the launch of the Next Chapter of the Qatar National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030.
