Most cholera deaths in Yemen occurred in Houthi-held areas

(MENAFN) According to an investigation conducted by Al Jazeera, the majority of cholera deaths in Yemen occurred in areas controlled by Houthi rebels, as a result of the blockade and air raids by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition.

The data released by World Health Organization showed that 1,794 of total 2,003 Yemen's cholera deaths occurred in the northern and western governorates which are under the control of Houthi militants.

Also, southern Yemen and rebels' areas had witnessed high rates of hunger and seen more hospitals and shelters bombed since fighting started in March 2015.
