Death toll in Nepal, Bangladesh floods reaches 221


(MENAFN) Officials announced that around 221 people passed away and over 1.5mn people have fled home as monsoon flooding broke out in India, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Furthermore, sources also added that in Nepal, harsh flooding has hit tens of thousands of homes in the populous southern lowlands, harming at least 20% of the population.

According to Home Minister Janardan Sharma, "As per the data we have received so far, 111 have been killed, 35 are still missing and a search operation is underway".
