UAE FM discusses Yemen humanitarian aid delivery with UN envoy


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ABU DHABI, Aug 13 (KUNA) -- UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on Sunday discussed UN Special Envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed's efforts to resolve the Yemen conflict and humanitarian aid delivery to its people.

Abu Dhabi underlines its support of UN efforts to reach a political settlement in Yemen and commitment to assist the Yemeni people, UAE's state news agency quoted the minister as saying.

In a statement, he added it was necessary to ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches those in need in Yemen.

The UAE is committed to the security and stability of Yemen, and the sovereignty of its lands, the minister went on to mention.

For his part, the UN envoy praised the continuing aid the UAE provides to the Yemenis. (end) bsu.sd -- --
