Turkey sends artillery units to Syrian border

(MENAFN) Turkey sent artillery units to the border with Syria, where its army clashes with Kurdish militia, as reported the state-run Anadolu news agency.

Moreover, the new units were there in order to reinforce rather than replace the artillery in place.

In addition, Turkish troops and YPG have exchanged fire in the area many times in recent months and Turkey has threatened to launch another cross-border offensive.

Last year, Turkey launched a ground offensive into northern Syria in order to push IS fighters and stop the YPG forces linking up their different zones of control.
