Algerian Singer Reda Taliani Leaves Coma Caused by Traffic Accident

(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat- Algerian Raï singer Reda Taliani is in "critical condition" but is no longer in a coma following a traffic accident in Paris around midday on July 11, his manager has revealed.

Soufiane Gaga, his drummer, said he had been in contact with Taliani's manager in France, who assured that "he has come out of the coma and has even spoken to his loved ones."

The singer had been due to play at a concert in Casablanca on July 13 as part of the Casa Festival of music and arts. Casa Music's artistic director has since announced that Kader Japonais will replace him in the concert at Ain Sbaa.

The Algerian has three children with his Moroccan wife, and he has been vocal about his love for Morocco.

In a three-minute video posted on his Facebook page last August, the singer responded to Algerians who condemned a photo taken of him with King Mohammed VI and Princess Lalla Salma. In the video, Taliani asserted that Morocco and Algeria have many things in common, such as Islam, customs, and traditions, unlike France, which he said had invaded Algeria and killed many Algerians.
