Cholera in Yemen grows, reaching 300.000 cases

(MENAFN) The Red Cross reported that the cholera outbreak in Yemen reached an extensive pace of growth, with more than 300.000 cases suspected in the war torn nation of 25mn.

Accordingly, the cholera epidemic, which is growing by 7.000 new cases every day in a fraction of the nation, continues to spiral out of control.

In addition, the World Health Org reported more than 262.000 suspected cases and 1.587 deaths on July 2, while officials were able to collect data from 21 of Yemen's 23 governorates.

Moreover, cholera is a highly catching disease spread amid waste products in food and water, and 14mn Yemenis have no access to clean water.
