(MENAFN - Morocco World News) Rabat – The National Committee for the Prevention of Traffic Accidents (CNPAC) is calling on drivers to be vigilant and cautious on the road and to take all necessary precautions for their safety when traveling during Eid Al Fitr and over the summer holidays.
In a statement issued by the CNPAC, road users including drivers of private vehicles, taxis, public transit and freight vehicles, are required to comply with the Highway Traffic Act and highway safety standards due to heavy traffic and the massive use of public transport during the Aid Al Fitr period and the summer season.
The Committee stresses the need to check the condition of vehicles before taking to the road by practicing diligent mechanical maintenance and technical inspection, especially of the tires, brakes, shock absorbs and wipers to avoid accidents.
It also encourages drivers to take sufficient rest, arrange travels in advance, avoid rush hour, store luggage in the trunk of the car while respecting the maximum load and reducing speed.
It also stresses avoiding the use of mobile phones while driving, placing children under the age of ten years in the back seats and fastening seat belts to all passengers even in public transport.
