(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced the 12 cities that will host the 2018 ITTF World Tour events and Qatar will host the inaugural round in March next year. The 2018 World Tour will be split into two tiers, six ITTF World Tour Platinum events, which is the new top tier of the World Tour and six regular ITTF World Tour events. Notably, the six ITTF World Tour Platinum events will have higher prize money and will be of a higher organisation level to ensure the attendance of the world's best players.
Al Rayyan defeat Oman's AlEttifaq in GCC Club basketball
Qatar's Al Rayyan defeated Al Ettifaq of Oman 96-81 in the third round match of the prestigious GCC Club Basketball Championship 2017 in Manama, Bahrain, on Tuesday. In the other fixtures, Al Sadd of Qatar suffered a 69-82 defeat at the hands of Al Ettihad of Saudi Arabia and Al Shabab of United Arab Emirates defeated Al Manama of Bahrain 102-93. The quarter-finals were scheduled to be staged later yesterday.
