Annual inflation in Morocco slows to 1.6pct


(MENAFN) Morocco annual consumer price inflation eased to 1.6 percent in July from 2.3 percent in June, due to a slowing in food price rises.

Moreover, annual food inflation eased to 2.7 percent from 4.4 percent in the previous month, whereas non-food price inflation fell to 0.5 percent.

On the other hand, transport costs declined by 1.1 percent, but hotels and restaurants were 2.6 percent more expensive.

Meanwhile, the consumer price index eased to 0.2 percent in the cited month, down from 0.4 percent in June as food price inflation fell to 0.4 percent.
