Kuwait- US welcomes any pause in Syria to ensure humanitarian delivery


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) (With MIL-RUSSIA-SYRIA-AID) WASHINGTON, Aug 10 (KUNA) -- The US welcomed Wednesday "any pause" that facilitates delivery of humanitarian aid in Syria, referring to the three-hour daily ceasefire in Aleppo, Syria, announced by Moscow.

US State Spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau said in the daily briefing "we would welcome any pause that successfully facilitates delivering of vitally-needed humanitarian supplies," stressing that such ceasefire "must be observed by all parties." Earlier Wednesday, Russia announced a ceasefire window for three hours starting 0700 to 1000 GMT Thursday in order for humanitarian convoys to reach the civilians in the ravaged Aleppo. (end) yt.hb
