(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Algiers, July 08 (QNA) - A militant has been eliminated in an ambush on Friday in the town of El Milia in Jijel by an Algerian army detachment, recovering a Kalashnikov type automatic pistol and a quantity of ammunition, the National Defense Ministry said in a statement carried by state news agency APS.
"As part of counterterrorism, a detachment of the ANP [People''s National Army] eliminated on 8 July 2016 one terrorist following an ambush set in the area of Tiana, located in the town of El Milia (Jijel/5th military region) and recovered a Kalashnikov type automatic pistol and a quantity of ammunition," the ministry said.
"As part of the fight against organized crime, a detachment of the ANP arrested 4 persons in Biskra (4th military region) and seized 606 units of different drinks," the statement added. (QNA)
